Thank You 2024
2024 has been a fantastic year, it's had it's up's and it's downs yes, but it has also had some incredible life milestones and moments in it.
Personally there has been a lot going on, much of it unplanned:
I changed jobs which was fantastic in a sense that I no longer have to travel to Swindon once a month which is something that really used to mess my rhythm up (and lets be honest 16 hours in the car over 3 days is never that fun). Working remotely has it's challenges though.
We unexpectedly bought a house (probably a year ahead of plan). It's a fantastic house and fantastic location. It has changed things a lot though and if I am honest that change is one I am still trying to adapt to in terms of finding the best schedule.
We unexpectedly got a second dog. She's a bundle of energy and a great addition to the family.
Most importantly, we got married. It was an incredible day, honestly one of the best of my life. Marrying my best friend and being around all of my friends and family in the country we took a chance moving to 3 and a half years earlier. I could type for days on it, reminiscing about it now has me stopping and smiling.
There was of course some sadness thrown in there with my Grandmother passing away in the summer, something that over this Christmas period has bought me to tears a couple of times still and certainly still leaves a hole in our family.
From a coaching point of view it's been a journey as well. There have been good classes, bad classes, crisis of confidence (a few), massive highs and a lot of learning. The learning has been two fold. On the floor I have learned a lot, things that do work, things that don't, things I would do differently and have. I am not the perfect coach, far from it. There are things I am good at, things I am getting better at and things that worry me every time they come up… It'll get there, I have some pretty good mentors. I have had my own injuries to contend with as well which have made my own training a challenge, although hopefully that is well on the mend now!
On the other hand a huge amount of my time has been consumed by courses I am taking to develop as a coach. By the end of Jan I will have passed my L2 & L3 Personal Trainer. Around the same time I will also have added L4 Nutritionist to my repertoire as well. Getting those done is a big step, it will take some pressure off my shoulders and allow the next part of the plan to start which is hopefully doing something with those qualifications and letting more of my personality come out during coaching sessions.
2024 you have been a fantastic challenge which has set up 2025 brilliantly… I cannot wait to see what it holds.
