Good Times Come & Go - Enjoy Them While They Are Here…
Life is full of ups and downs, recently there have been some really good ups and as I sign off to go on Honeymoon to New Zealand, I'm in a really good place.
Why am I in such a good place, well it feels like things are starting to come together…
Physically my wrist is nearly there, as I sit here typing I realise that today, maybe for the first time in 9 months, I haven't thought about it at all (I haven't exercised yet today so that may change when I put a bit more weight on it). My running and swimming are getting faster every week and the legs feel like they are getting better on the bike (although I am looking forward to getting out on the roads in a bit more warmth when I am back!). I am a bit worried that the 3 week break will set me back and in reality it will, even if I get a little bit of running in while I am away. Alas, those runs will be fantastic and the reality is the focus should be on enjoying the break with my wife. That is also the beauty of genuinely not having a time in mind that I am aiming for with the 70.3. It means I can genuinely enjoy it and do not have to get worried about enjoying my life around it.
Ultimately the three weeks is going to be incredible, I am going to see some incredible sights, truly switch off from the day job and it is always these type of Holidays that leave you reinvigorated for life. The reinvigoration is going to be needed when I get back as I have certainly committed myself to a lot of great things. We ran a first run of a Hyrox seminar that we are looking to make slicker and professionalise. I have completed the final pieces of coursework I needed to in order to finally call myself a nutritionist as well as personal training and CrossFit Coach. When I'm back it will be time to properly kick off that side of my business and slowly bring on a few clients to get things rolling and also look at some online (maybe even some in person) personal training and programming.
The thing that has put the biggest smile on my face though… I have had a few different people, unprompted, reach out either in person or via socials to give me really positive feedback about my coaching. I'm not afraid to admit that I am a, what they would call in sport, a 'confidence guy'. Meaning the more confident I get in something the better and better I become Vs when my confidence is low and I play it safe, go into my shell a little bit and definitely become more introverted.
There is a huge amount to look forward to, but for now it is time to enjoy being fit and healthy by exploring New Zealand for a few weeks!!
